I am going to Cancun Oct 2-9 for my honeymoon and I don't know which hotel to book. I wanted to know if any one has stayed at more than one of the following hotels and can actually compare any of them. Omni Hotel, Temptation Resort/spa, RIU Cancun, RIU Palace, RIU Caribe and GR Solaris. Please let me know if you had bad experiences at any of these hotels.
I am wanting to do a little of everything when I am there (relaxing, sight seeing/tours, snorkeling, going to nightclubs etc.) I would like some recommendations on that kind of stuff too.
thanks!
(we are 28/29 yrs old)

the hotels you listed are all good. I wouldn't recommend temptation unless your into swinging, Riu Palace would be ur best bet. It is walking distance to the main action in the hotel zone like coco bongo, the city , daddy o and congo bar. Riu palace is awesome and you can't go wrong there, the food is awesome and service is excellent. you can relax there all day and party at night, especially check out coco bongo! it is safe to walk the 3 minutes to all the clubs. you have to take a day and go snorkel at Xcaret park , you can check out their web page and your resort will be selling these excursions anyways. There is so much to do when you are there and your resort will be happy to direct you to anything you want. DEF RIU PALACE!! Me and my husband are 29 as well and have the best time here. Other resorts I would def recommend that I love are Gran Caribe real or The Royal! If you had the money Le Blanc is out of this world and a dream!! have fun!!

Every hotel you have listed is a very good hotel. It would be hard to say just which one will be best for you. Not knowing you but since it is your honeymoon I am going to recommend Temptation Resort. It is a newer style hotel with the young in mind. You will be pampered in all aspects.

Now what to do. Your week will go by so fast you may not want to leave your hotel but if you do I am going to give you a few ideas but your hotel will have all the information and remember this is the lowest time of the year so please check for and ask for the lowest price. This is the low of the low season!

The Mayan ruins are a must see. The biggest is Chitzen Itza the 7th wonder of the world. It is a day trip but well worth it. About a 3 hour ride to the west of Cancun your trip will probably include a stop at Valladolid Mexico a really cool laid back town and it may even include a trip to a cenote.A sink hole in the jungle with fresh cool water great for swimming and snorkeling.

The ruins of Tulum are smaller and closer but here you will experience the most beautiful views of the Caribbean Ocean and the best beach on the Rivera Maya, not to mention the ruins which are the only walled in city of the Mayans.

A day trip to "Island of Women" Isla Mujeres is short and very fun ferry ride to the island spend the day walking around the island shopping and getting the best deals as I said it is the low season everyone is willing to haggle for a price.

Hope this helps got another question just ask or contact me directly.

I've stayed at the Riu Palace several times and loved it. It's a beautiful hotel and close enough to walk places if you want to leave the hotel and go to the night clubs or go shopping There's another Riu next door and if you are staying at the Palace you can use their amenities. Palace has less children than the other one.

I haven't stayed at the others, but have never had a bad experience at a RIU. hope this helps!

OMG, depending on what you're into We accidently stayed at the Temptation resort a few years ago when it was under a different name, it had hard core porn on every channel and really strange games by the poolside, however I will have to admit the food was Really good for being all inclusive! lol I have never stayed with the RUI chain, but have always heard good things! Maybe check www.tripadvisor.com for reviews?

We did a combo tour to Tulum and Xelha (shell-ha) the mayan ruins and nature water park- its amazing and I would do it again! don't be afraid to use their public transportaion the buses are very easy to use and cheaper than having to pay 5-7$ for a taxi every time. If you do take a taxi, make sure you agree upon a price Before you get in!
